Day 7-Martha's Vineyard

We woke up and went straight to the steamship to wait in line for our passage to Martha's Vineyard. We got to the island and found Budget Rent-A-Car after a little stress of driving the RV on the island. We found Martha's Vineyard Family Campground but couldn't get to our spot until 2:00 so we hoped in our car and headed into Vineyard Haven/Tisbury. We went to The Black Dog Tavern where we ate and shopped. After that we walked around the streets of Vineyard Haven and shopped. There is ALOT of shopping on Martha's Vineyard. We went back to the campground and got the RV all settled and hooked up. Kevin and Kayla were tired so Callen and Colbie and I left them at the RV and went to explore the island. We let Colbie pick the beach from the map and she picked Lighthouse Beach in Edgartown because it had a lighthouse on it. Since it was in the afternoon, we found parking on the beach fairly easily. We took our chairs and toys and set on the beach for a little while. Colbie wanted mommy to get in the water but it was way too cold. Sweet Callen got in the ocean and played with Colbie. The beach was very narrow and the sand was squishy. Colbie spotted the lighthouse in the distance and really wanted to walk there. So, we walked and walked and walked until we finally made it. When we arrived at the Edgartown lighthouse we realized you could climb it. So we did and got stamps for our Lighthouse book and the trek was worth it. We walked back to our spot on the beach and decided we should probably check in with daddy and Kayla in case they were ready to go. They were happily watching Frasier and The Simpsons and were not at all ready to venture out. So, the girls and I decided to go into town for ice cream at the famous Mad Martha's. It started raining, we drove around town four times looking for a parking spot, but we still had a fun time and got yummy ice cream. We drove back for showers and to get Kayla and Kevin because Edgartown looked like a lot of fun and we wanted to go in there for the evening. We all went into town and the girls were pleased to hear the shops didn't close until 11:00 pm:). We shopped and shopped and shopped and then called it a day.
