Day 4-NYC 911 and Bowling
Well, we had quite a day today. Daddy did a great job of getting us up and out of rainy Virginia early this morning. We drove past more of the beautiful farms with the red barn and silos on the rolling hills. We drove through Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and into New Jersey. We arrived and were grateful to see the RV "park" on the water with more of our kind. We were getting pointed at as we drove through Jersey City. We realized pretty quickly that we had no choice but to learn how to use the transit system. There were no cabs in sight and we needed to go pick up our yummy treats at Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken. We figured it out and took the white train to the end of the line and got off in Hoboken. Carlos bakery was a lot of fun and we were really happy we got to skip the line because we had already placed our order. We made it back to the RV to put our goodies away and rewarded ourselves with a cab ride into the city. He went to the 911 memorial and found it to be very busy and Packed. Once we got in it was a nice peaceful park with the names of the lost but not much information. We did not stay long and took another cab to Times Square where we were meeting "The Krillmos". We didn't not have time for fake purses in Chinatown but that will be first on the list tomorrow. We arrived at Time Square and immediately got to see all the weirdos!! After hanging out on the street, we went to Bowlmor to meet our friends. We couldn't believe the bowling place, it was so cool. It looked nothing like we had ever seen, more like a nightclub. The girls were very excited and it didn't take everyone long to warm up. By the end of the night they were carrying each other, talking like they were best friends and many hugs were given as they said goodbye. All 8 kids bowled with Daddy and Kenny while mom and Silvana sat in our lounge and chatted. About halfway through our evening Mimi and Opa surprised us with their presence. They got to see 8 children running wild. After bowling we went to Starbucks to savor the last few minutes together. When the Krillmos left, we walked around with Mimi and Opa. We went back to the Toys R us that was near the bowling alley and let Colbie do some shopping. The Farris wheel was closed so we will have to go back tomorrow. We checked out Sophora, and the M&M world. We saw some pretty interesting people on the streets of Times Square. One man was wearing nothing but his tightey Whiteys and playing a guitar. As we walked by Colbie said, "I'm not going to get that picture out of my head anytime soon". She is so funny. Callen and Kayla were pretty much scared as it got later and later. We finally decided to call it a night at about 11:00. We walked Mimi and Opa back to their hotel and hailed a cab back to Jersey City. Big day tomorrow.
