Mesa Verde

Wow what a day! It started off pretty good as we were up early and mom drove up to the Mesa top where we were early for our tour of Balcony House. We are ready to go and made it through the first gate. All of the sudden Colbie got a stomach ache, got very pale and started throwing up in a few minutes. We decided it was altitude sickness and dad would stay back with her. The ranger was locking the gate so mom, Kayla and Callen ran ahead. We made it up the first 80' ladder and into the house were mom all of the sudden decided to worry incessantly about Colbie. There was no cell service. Kayla was freaking out about the heights and Callen just wanted every one to enjoy the tour. We finally left the kiva and made it to the tunnel where Mom crawled through so fast she cut her knee. She then ran up the mountain leaving Kayla and Callen behind, turning around every 10' or so to take a picture. Callen took care of Kayla, mom made it back to Colbie who was just fine in the RV. She was a little embarrassed but after hearing Kayla's recap of Balcony House she didn't feel she missed out. We regrouped and headed for Cliff Palace. Colbie loved the dwelling and was slowing getting better. After Cliff Palace we went up to Spruce Tree House and the Museum. We hiked down to Spruce Tree House and got to go down into a kiva. In the end it was a good trip to Mesa Verde. We are grateful for whatever the Lord was sparing us from by Colbie and dad not going to Balcony House. We are headed to Los Angeles and made a very quick stop at Four Corners National Monument. We will arrive very late to LA!
