We hit the ground running and still are in shock from the few hours of sleep. We became Über pros pretty quickly as we took it to the Warner Brothers Studio. We arrived on time and recovered quickly from the huge disappointment of the Friends set being closed for renovations. It's okay, we still were seeing a lot of really good stuff including setting up Pretty Little Liars filming that afternoon. We soon realized our guide Ethan had some connections when we drove right through the editing and wood working building. At the bat car museum he whispered to me he had a very special surprise at the end of the tour and he was taking us to the soft opening of a new part of the tour that included the Friends set. We went into a building that was heavily guarded and we were instructed that no pictures could go on social media until July 18. We walked in to a fully running Central Perk Cafe, an interactive design studio, the Friends set, an interactive giant set and Harry Potter. Not only did we get to sit on the Friends couch but the girls got to ride on a Harry Potter broom with the green screen behind, complete with a Potter robe. The girls were beyond impressed and we didn't care that it was taking up the tar pits time from our itinerary. We got a bite to eat and drinks at Central Perk while dad called his childhood babysitter, Vicky Hume. We decided to meet Vicky at a posh restaurant in Beverly Hills. We took über to Il Pastio and secured an outside table. Vicky arrived and the girls were enamored. She brought them her latest project, insulated make up bags or Ice Queen. We had a great visit and then headed off to rodeo drive to do some shopping. A while later, Vicky left us and we wandered down to Saks Fifth Avenue where dad, of course, spotted Kendall Jenner. He found us and we scoured the five floors of Saks until we finally found them scurrying off. It was Kendall Jenner and her friend Hailey Baldwin. Rodeo Drive was a success!! We called on Über again to take us to the Ivy House for dinner. This was our favorite Uber driver as he had phone chargers and candy in his car. We were impressed with the Ivy House right away when they offered us complimentary champagne and sat us at their nicest table. Dad of course spotted another celebrity right away sitting at the table next to us, Montel Williams. As we were discreetly taking photos of Montel, we noticed another table discreetly taking photos of us! As our dinner progressed, we noticed we were getting special treatment. Pizza ordered off the menu, cookies for Colbie's Daffy Duck and quickly cleaning the bathrooms before we went in. Through the entire dinner people were staring and taking pictures under the table. After we paid the bill, the waiter said they were talking in the back because they had a difficult table and he told them all how nice dad was and wished all of his tables were like ours. He said it's nice to see a famous person act so nice and sincere!
While we were on the curb waiting for Über, the waiter rushed out and took pictures of us. We noticed the entire waitstaff was staring at us! We had an awesome driver and looked the part as we left in our black suburban. We were guessing on our way back to our RV park about who exactly they thought dad was!!
It was a cool night and we rushed to get our showers and head to bed.
