Friday July 9

We were up and atem early this morning and left Savannah heading Northeast. Did you know Savannah is the most Western east coast city?? Neither did we. We filled the H2O and emptied the black and grey water, unhooked and took off. We made our stop in Georgetown, SC with an hour to spare. It is a small port town and the home of the "Carolina Rover", our 3 hour tour boat. We were a little leary at first when we saw a group of the 49 that would be on our boat but I knew one thing, I could totally outrun and outsmart them in shelling. The boat was modest and the rest of the passengers were a little more normal :). We saw a civil war shipwreck, the Georgetown lighthouse and had a friendly captain and an awesome guide. The captain let the girls drive the boat and Garrett, the 17 year old tour guide was so impressive we might look him up in a few years!

We got to the island and hiked around to the other side. We were told not to go in the water but mama knows where the conchs hide. Needless to say I got wet, "whistle blowned" (from Garrett but I was gentle with him) and plowed all the way over by a wave. Nonetheless, we came home (to the RV) with many conchs. Big ones. This pic is dark but all I have.

Kayla and Callen stuck with Garrett and dutifully found their conchs on land. Kevin stayed on shore with Colbie and pointed out conchs in the water and took pictures. Makes a mama proud! We were pretty hot and sandy and the rv in the parking lot was a sight for tired eyes. We fired that puppy up and all took showers. We still had a 4 hour drive ahead of us to Beaufort so we decided to stop and eat in Myrtle Beach. Parked the RV, got out, went to the restaurant to eat, got back in and put the kids to bed. They will (hopefully) wake up in the morning in Beaufort, NC. Very cool. Not to try and top the treasure of the conchs found, but I found a cabinet over the fridge we had yet to discover. Whoohoo!! It's gonna take us a week to fill this baby up- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Location:Somewhere between Myrtle Beach and Beaufort, NC
